Robert D. Bradshaw, 83, of Waterloo, died December 2, 2005, in Alton. He was born April 10, 2005, in Gorham, the son of the late William C. and Gertrude M Bradshaw nee White. He married the late Violet Bradshaw nee Pape in 1944. He is survived by his sisters Thelma Bozarth of Tuscola and Ruth (Robert) Harris of E. Alton; and nephews David Bradshaw, Don Bradshaw, Robert (Judith) Perrin, Alan Bozarth and Fred (Susan) Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Homer Bradshaw and nephew Steven Perrin. Mr. Bradshaw was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Masonic Lodge #787 in Waterloo. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, and was a veteran of World War II. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Ivan Horn officiating. He is buried at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown.

Paul T. McDonald, 65, of Freeburg, died December 2, 2005, in Belleville. He was born April 5, 1940, in Belleville, the son of the late Clarence B. and Fleta L. McDonald nee Mitchell. He married Margaret “Missy” McDonald nee Dundon in 1960. He is survived by his wife; sons Colin McDonald, Ryan McDonald and Neill (Niki) McDonald, all of Freeburg; grandchildren Andrew McDonald, Meghan McDonald and Breanna McDonald; brother Tom (Charlotte) McDonald of Freeburg; sisters Jane (Ted) Gale of Freeburg, Sheila (Phil) Richardson of Centralia, Ann (Bruce) Weik of Galesburg, and Mary Melvin of Freeburg; and nieces nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Mary Elizabeth “Libby” McDonald. Mr. McDonald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg. He was retired as a coal miner from Peabody Coal and later worked in maintenance at Freeburg Care Center. He was a member of the Freeburg Sportsman’s Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation was at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Freeburg. A funeral mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg, the Rev. Rene DuFour officiating. He is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg. Memorials may be made to Freeburg Sportsman’s Club, St. Joseph School Library, American Caner Society, or in the form of masses.

Dorothy Huskey nee Zollner, 85, of Waterloo, died December 2, 2005, in Red Bud. She was born April 7, 1920, in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Bartholemew and Kathleen Zollner nee Murgatroy. She was married to the late Daniel Huskey. She is survived by her children Daniel Huskey of Colstrip, Mont., Michael (Terisa) Huskey of Waterloo, Patricia (Ron) Caywood of Waterloo, and Thomas (Leslie) Huskey of Coeur d’Alene, Id.; grandchildren Karie (Ron) Kapise, Shelley Caywood, Ryan Caywood, Jennifer Caywood, Amy Huskey (David) White, Shane Huskey, Emily Huskey, Katie Huskey, Jarad Huskey, and Kaylynn Huskey; sister Kathleen (Carl) Harris of Melbourne, Fla.; brothers Eugene Zollner of Bellingham, Wash., and James (Jean) Zollner of Belleville; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren Jessica Huskey and Andrea E. Huskey; sister Eleaner Behrens; and brothers Charles Zollner, Dan Zollner and Morris Zollner. Mrs. Huskey was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Renault and Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. She was a former quilter in Red Bud and Renault, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Charles A. “Art” Harbison, 70, of Kansas City, formerly of Waterloo, died December 3, 2005, in Kansas City. He was born April 28, 1935, in Banner, Mo., the son of the late Charles A. Harbison and Evelyn Robert nee Walker. He was married to Karen Harbison nee Branson. He is survived by his wife; children Jody (Dennis) Schreder of Valmeyer; Karla (Mark) Gelino of Kansas City; Trisha (Carl) Goodman of Sparta; and Kristi Harbison (good friend Jessica Woods) of Kansas City; grandchildren Mandy (Jeff) Herring, Anthony Schreder, Casey Schreder, Keith Hoffmann Jr., Jamie Hoffmann, Jesse Gelino, Chuck Goodman and Samantha Harbison; great-grandchildren Haleigh Herring and Lucas Herring; friend David Martin; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Charles Harbison, sister Virginia Yeager, and brother Jerry Gum. William C. E. Ehlers, 87, of Columbia, died December 4, 2005, in Columbia. He was born August 15, 1918, in Kimmswick, Mo., the son of the late William A. and Elizabeth Ehlers nee Gebhardt. He married Dorothy H. Ehlers nee Hofstetter in 1947. He is survived by his wife; sons Gary (Gloria) Ehlers of Columbia, and Steven (Mary Ann) Ehlers of San Clemente, Calif.; grandchildren Dianne (John Hoffman of Columbia, Karen (James) Kuppler of Hinckley, Allyson Ehlers of San Clemente, Calif., Brady Ehlers of San Clemente, Calif., and Carter Ehlers of San Clemente, Calif.; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Ellen Eisloefel of Belleville and Erma Ehlers of Belleville; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Ehlers attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia. He was self-employed as a farmer. He was a member of C & W Co-Op, Columbia Senior Citizens, National Farmer’s Organization, Monroe County Pork Producers and Columbia Gymnastic Association. John P. Guttmann Sr., 89, of Valmeyer, died December 5, 2005, in Belleville. He was born January 24, 1916, in Valmeyer, the son of the late Charles and Anna Guttmann nee Miller. He was married to Helen Guttmann nee Unterseh. He is survived by his wife; son Allan (Catharina “Carin”) Guttmann of Waterloo; grandchildren Darren (Rachael Guttmann, Brent (Renee) Guttmann, and Collena (Timothy) Ahrens; great-grandchildren Connor John Guttmann and Felicity Helen Guttmann; sister Alice Fromme of Wartburg; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son John P. Guttmann Jr.; brothers Francis P. Guttmann, August Guttmann, George Guttmann and Charles Guttmann; and sisters Mary Boyer, Adeline Rusteberg and Anna Guttmann. Mr. Guttmann was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Valmeyer. Robert F. Lepp, 77, of Columbia, died December 8, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born March 28, 1928, in Columbia, the son of the late Harry and Margaret M. Lepp nee Steffenauer. He married Shirley Lepp nee Stevenson in 1950 in Kansas City. He is survived by his wife; sons Robert (Pat) Lepp of St. Louis, and Joe (Barb) Lepp of Columbia; grandchildren John (Valerie) Lepp, Merritt (Todd) Derickson, Derrick Lepp, Jennifer Lepp, Christina Lepp, Natalie Lepp and Alex Lepp; four great-grandchildren; brother Charles (Mary) Lepp of Columbia; and sister Margaret Ann (Mike) Conrad of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents and son John M. Lepp. Mr. Lepp attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia. He was retired from Ralston-Purina in St. Louis. He was a member of American Legion Post #581, Columbia Gymnastic Association and Knights of Columbus Council #6165. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Joseph Michels, 76, of Waterloo, died December 8, 2005, in Red Bud. He was born June 8, 1929, in Yugoslavia, the son of the late Jakob and Elizabeth Michels nee Pletz. He was married to Barbara Michels nee Lautenbach. He is survived by his wife; children Elfrieda (Joe) Lloyd, Alfred (Donna) Michels, Barb (Terry) Hoselton, Marie (Bill) Schlemmer, Betty (Mike) Griffin, Kathy (Kenny) Goodman, Joe (Debbie) Michels, Rick (Patty) Michels, Sue (Lou) Stuart, John (Jackie) Michels, Debbie (Jeff) Blandford, and Diane (Joe) Lewis; 27 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sisters Marian Delbo and Francis Bambach. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Maria Makarow. Mr. Michels was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. Esther M. Johanning nee Jacobs, 92, of Fults, died December 9, 2005, in Belleville. She was born January 31, 1913, in Renault, the son of the late Henry and Wilhelmina Jacobs nee Kaestner. She was married to the late Walter A. Johanning. She is survived by her children Arlyn Widenhoefer of Albuquerque, N.M., Cletus (Frances) Johanning of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Wayne (Therese) Johanning of Waterloo; grandchildren Scott Widenhoefer, Sheri (Lawrence) Martinez, Michelle (Mark) Blalock, and Nathan Johanning; great-grandchildren Veronica, Dominic, Michael, Melissa, Matthew and Conner; brothers Vernon (Alvera) Jacobs of Waterloo, Henry (Darlene )Jacobs of Columbia, Melvin (Pat) Jacobs of Kirkwood, Mo., sister-in-law Elsie Offermann of Lena; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nelda Jacobs, brothers Otto Jacobs and Wilmer Jacobs, and son-in-law Norman Widenhoefer. Walter C. Schmidt, 95, of Waterloo, died December 10, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born September 19, 1910, in Waterloo, the son of the late John F. and Mary Schmidt nee Loehr. He was married to the late Arlu L. Schmidt. He is survived by his son Fred (Pat) Schmidt of Waterloo; grandchildren David (fiancee Cori Livsey) Schmidt, and Kristina (Kevin) Juelfs; great-grandson Garrick Schmidt; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters Elsa (Emil J.) Mueller and Hulda (Willis) Koenigsmark; and brothers William B. (Helen) Schmidt and Armin Schmidt in infancy. Mr. Schmidt was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, where he served as president, secretary and elder, and was in the Men’s Fellowship. He was a charter member of the Waterloo Municipal Band, serving as president, secretary and treasurer. He was the superintendent and secretary-treasurer of the Waterloo Cemetery Maintenance District. He served at the district and council levels for Boy Scouts of America, and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award in 1962. Anna M. Marquardt nee Schreder, 85, of Waterloo, died December 14, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born March 16, 1920, in Monroe County, the daughter of the late Michael and Theckla Schreder nee Wuertz. She was married to the late Robert L. Marquardt. She is survived by her children Ina Riebeling of Waterloo, Darlene (Harvey) Prange of Waterloo, Lewellyn (Sharon) Marquardt of Red Bud, Stanley (Bonnie) Marquardt of Waterloo, Bobbie Ann (Kevin) Farmer of Waterloo, and Ivan (Peggy) Marquardt of Waterloo; son-in-law Jim Early of Valmeyer; daughter-in-law Marlene Marquardt of Waterloo; grandchildren and great=grandchildren; sisters Lucille (Dewey) Meeks of Kimberly City, Mo., and Florence Price of Millstadt; brothers Albert (Karen) Schreder of Red Bud, Michael Schreder of Waterloo, Roy (Betty) Schreder of Red Bud, and Francis (Viola) Schreder of Ruma; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Yvonne Early, son Marvin Marquardt, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, son-in-law Roy Riebeling, sister Agatha Riechmann and brother Edgar Schreder. Carl “Curley” Joslin Sr., 85, of Columbia, died December 16, 2005, in Columbia. He was born June 30, 1920, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Albert and Florence Joslin nee Rainy. He married the late Florence G. Joslin nee Mooney in 1941; she preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his daughters Janice (Gary) Crawford of Columbia, and Sherri (David) Markham of Manchester, Mo.; grandchildren David Markham, Michael (I-Fei Chen-) Markham, and Katie (Adam) Thomure; sister Dorothy Kovorik of Caseyville; and brother Frank (Gladys) Joslin of Winter Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Clarence Joslin. Mr. Joslin was retired from Phillips Petroleum in East St. Louis. He was also the former owner of Curley’s Tavern in Cahokia. He was a member of Centerville Men’s Club. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home, Fr. Steve Gira officiating. Vernon E. “Ben” Krug, 78, of Waterloo, died December 17, 2005, in Belleville. He was born November 3, 1927, in Princeton, Ind., the son of the late Vernon J. and Mildred M. Krug nee Sirles. He was married to Bonnie J. Krug nee Welder. He is survived by his wife; daughter Tonia E. (Steve) Phelps of Petersburg, granddaughter Erin (Kyle) Griffith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carlos & Pat Welder of Newburg, Ind.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Krug was retired from NW & Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Princeton, Ind., V.F.W. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Virgil F. Kolodgie Jr., 77, of Waterloo, died December 18, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born March 27, 1928, in St. Louis, the son of the late Virgil F. and Mary Catherine Kolodgie nee Tierney. He was formerly married to Margaret M. Kolodgie. He is survived by his former wife; children Maggie (Steve) Black of Waterloo, Lisa Sankey of O’Fallon, Mo., and David (Tuffy) Kolodgie of St. Louis; grandchildren Christopher (Kelly) Black, Andrea (Tim) Hansel, Tanya Sankey, Kelly Sankey, Heather Kolodgie, Nicholas Kolodgie, Sarah Kolodgie, Dakota Kolodgie, Cheyenne Kolodgie and Ronnie Kolodgie; great-granddaughter Haley Luce; and a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Erna B. Henerfauth, 80, of Waterloo, formerly of Valmeyer, died December 20, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born November 6, 1925, in Fults, the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Henerfauth nee Huebner. She is survived by her nieces Juanita Kent of Ames, Cecilia Vogt of Valmeyer, Patricia Floerke of Waterloo, Brenda Huebner of Waterloo, JoAnn (Manlee) Knobloch of Maeystown, and Helen (Frank) Jack of St. Louis; great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Esther A. Stumpf nee Nobbe, 85, December 20, 2005, of St. Louis, was born June 9, 1920, in Valmeyer. She was married to the late Charles Stumpf. She is survived by her children Marlene Marquardt of Waterloo, LaVerne (Keith) Mentel of Osage Beach, Mo., Ronald (Sandi) Stumpf of Waterloo, Roger (Susan) Stumpf of Waterloo, and Richard (RuAnne) Stumpf of Waterloo; David Stumpf, Robert Stumpf, Lisa Mentel, Michael Mentel, Steven Marquardt, John Marquardt, James Marquardt, Jeremy Marquardt, Bradley Stumpf, Amanda Stumpf and Charles Stumpf; great-grandchildren Dustin Wedel, Kayla Marquardt, Alex Marquardt, Boean Marquardt, Bryce Marquardt, Lindsy Marquardt, Gillian Marquardt, Alexis Stumpf and Adam Stumpf; sisters Ruth Offermann and Edna Rabbermann; brother Roy Nobbe; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Marvin Marquardt, grandchild Marvin Marquardt, great-grandchild Madeline Marquardt, and brother Louis Nobbe. Mrs. Stumpf was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo. She was retired from MAR Graphics and had worked at Knaust Mushroom Farm. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Margaret M. Daab nee Pullen, 83, of Columbia, died December 21, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born October 17, 1922, in Dupo, the daughter of the late Hezekiah C. and Mary Elizabeth Pullen nee Wright. She was married to the late Reuben “Mustard” Daab; he preceded her in death in 1980. She is survived by her children Carol (Richard) Kelling of East Carondelet, Nancy S. Boyd of Belleville, and Thomas R. Daab of Millstadt; grandchildren Jill Boker, Roy Kelling, Brenda Gladser, Travis Kelling, Zachary B. Daab, Tom Boyd and Jay Boyd; 20 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Raymond Pullen. Mrs. Daab attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of American Legion Post #581, Immaculate Conception Altar Sodality, ICS Mother’s Club, Columbia Senior Nutrition Site, 4-H Leader, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Ralph L. Lane, 78, of Waterloo, died December 22, 2005, in Eldorado. He was born November 30, 1927, in Eldorado, the son of the late Earl and Mary Lane nee Minshull. He was married to the late Rowena Lane. He is survived by his children Richard (Nancy) Lane of Columbia and Rosalind Lane of Eldorade; grandchildren Sonja Rodon, Nicole (Jason Toon) Lane, Erika Lane, Amy Lane, Rachel (Dan) Lipp, Grant Lane and Ramona Tucci; great-grandchildren Veronica White, Taylor Lipp, Paige Lipp Samantha Lipp, Matthew Lane and Ava Lane Toon; brother Jerry (Dorothy) Lane of Eddyville; sister-in-law Shirley Lane of Eldorado; brother-in-law Norman (Delores) Vaniman of Sacramento, Calif.; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Larry Lane. Mr. Lane was past president of the Illinois State High School Speech Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mary Lou Hankammer nee Kolmer, 79, of the Columbia-Waterloo area, died December 23, 2005, in Columbia. She was born October 15, 1926, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Arthur and Carmelita Kolmer nee Vogt. She was married to Raymond E. Hankammer. She is survived by her husband; John (Lorraine) Hankammer of Savannah, Ga., Jane (Dave) Van Vertloo of Edwardsville, James (Debra) Hankammer of Waterloo, Judy (Mark) Paisley of Waterloo, Joan (Greg) Galey of Evansville, Ind., and Joyce (Dave) Peterson of Atlanta, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Dusold, and ASC Elizabeth Kolmer; brothers Leroy (Jean) Kolmer and Joseph (Liz) Kolmer; sisters-in-law Marie (William) Killian, Bernice (Dale) Newton and Theresa (Don) Weber; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Agnes C. Gregson nee Kreher, 89, of Hecker, died December 24, 2005, in Columbia. She was born February 10, 1916, in Hecker, the daughter of the late John and Frances Kreher nee Neff. She was married to the late Cletus J. Gregson. Paul J. Riebeling, 76, of Columbia, died December 25, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born September 21, 1929, in Waterloo, the son of the late Frank and Mary Riebeling nee Haberl. He married the late LouAnn T. Riebeling in 1949; she preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his children Connie (Ernest) Everett of Columbia, Cindy (John) Baker of Columbia, and Cheryl (Robert) Decker of St. Louis; grandchildren Chad (Kim) Everett, Brad (Kim) Everett, Jesse Baker and Josey Baker; great-grandchildren Kyle Everett, Emily Everett and Ashley Clinton; brother Carl (Bernice) Riebeling of Columbia; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers Gerard Riebeling, William Riebeling, Robert Riebeling and Roy Riebeling. Mr. Riebeling was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia. He was retired fro Pennsylvania Truck Lines in Fairmont City. George A. Riebeling, 83, of Columbia, a prominent retired farmer and public official, died December 28, 2005, in Waterloo at the Monroe County Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 23, 1922, in Columbia, the son of the late George C. and Eva T. Riebeling nee Schneider. He married Dorothy Riebeling nee Taake in 1946.

Mr. Riebeling is survived by his wife; daughters Cheryl (Norman) Hooten of Murphysboro, Janet (Dennis) Trost of Waterloo, and Judy (Tom) Garleb of Valmeyer; grandchildren Karen Kuppler, Theresa Holly, Justin Garleb and Julia Garleb; great-grandchildren Grant Kuppler, Abigail Kuppler and Trey Holly; sister Dorothy Schaefer; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mildred Ramsey.

Mr. Riebeling was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia. He was a retired grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of Columbia Blue Lodge #474 AF & AM, Monroe Service Co. Board, Columbia Unit 4 School Board, Monroe County Zoning Board of Appeals, Monroe County Fair Association, Waterloo Sportsman’s Club, State Fair Inspector, Monroe County Pork Producers, Monroe County Polled Hereford Association, Order of the Eastern Star, and he was a Shriner.

After retiring from farming, Mr. Riebeling served with distinction as the coordinator of the Monroe County Emergency Management Agency for many years. During his tenure as head of the Monroe County EMA, Mr. Riebeling headed up the local response to the Flood of 1993. His leadership drew widespread praise from local, state and federal officials. Officials from the Illinois EMA held up Riebeling’s efforts in Monroe County as a model for other counties to emulate. He was called upon several times to speak at seminars and workshops about his experiences with the flood.

He is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Elfrieda F. Wetzler nee Fehrenz, 90, of Maeystown, died December 30, 2005, in Red Bud. She was born April 1, 1915, in Red Bud, the daughter of the late Theodore and Johanna Fehrenz nee Goeddel. She was married to the late Roland Wetzler. Mrs. Wetzler is survived by her niece Vicky Butler and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Viola Fehrenz, and brothers Melvin Fehrenz, Oscar Fehrenz and Wilbert Fehrenz. He was married to the late Arneta E. Harbaugh. Mr. Harbaugh is survived by his children Raymond Harbaugh of Centralia, Donald (Luci) Harbaugh of St. Louis, Roger (Linda) Harbaugh of Orange, Calif., Charles (Carol) Harbaugh of Freeburg, LaVerne (Michael) Krebel of Evansville, Shirley (Michael) Turner of Waterloo, Wilfred (Susan) Harbaugh of Red Bud, and Michael Harbaugh of Jackson, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Alfred E. Trost, 76, of Waterloo, died November 7, 2005, in Geneva. He was born November 1, 1929, in Harrisonville, the son of the late Fred W. and Elsie T. Trost nee Roth. He was married to Maxine Trost nee Politsch for 54 years. He is survived by his wife; children Wilma (Michael) Ruby of O’Fallon and Barbara (Mark) Ehrhardt of North Aurora; grandchildren Sarah (Matthew) Cundiff, Laura Ruby, Lisa Ruby, Alex Ehrhardt, Lauren Ehrhardt and Drew Ehrhardt; and a sister, brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Mr. Trost was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo. Shirley M. Schmidt nee Hofstetter, 69, of Columbia, died November 11, 2005, in Columbia. Mrs. Kelly attended Bethany United Methodist Church and was a Stephen Minister. She was an inspiration to all through her 15-year battle with cancer. He was born October 13, 1934, in Belleville, the son of the late Herbert W. and Arthena Stumpf nee Kalbfleisch. He married Marion Stumpf nee Leister in 1966. He is survived by his wife; son Kurt (Mickie) Stumpf of Waterloo; daughter Kelly (Keith) Denzl of St. Louis; grandchildren A.J. Denzl, Ashley Denzl, Devin Stumpf and Paige Stumpf; sister Marilyn (Rudy) Landgraf of Columbia; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Stumpf attended Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo. He retired from ABF in St. Louis as an over the road truck driver and was a member of Goldwing Road Riders Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home, Pastor Kim Kelly officiating. He is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Lois J. Rexinger nee Orrell, 80, of Waterloo, died September 15, 2005, in Stratham, N.H. She was born April 13, 1924, in Casey, the daughter of George and Faye Orrell nee Swim. She was married to the late Edmund Rexinger. She is survived by her daughter Mylia (Michael) Fairley nee Reynolds of Stratham, N.H.; grandchildren Heather Fairley and Fay Fairley; sisters Roberta Hern of Waterloo, Marian Maag of Waterloo, and Georgia (Ervin) Borcharding of Waterloo; and aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Rexinger was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She and her husband lived in Alameda, Calif., for nearly 25 years, where Mrs. Rexinger was active with First Presbyterian Church, serving as deaconess for many years. Her efforts also helped save the church from closing. She participated in Bible studies and attended conferences of the Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel with her daughter and son-in-law. She returned to Waterloo in 1992. She traveled around the world with her husband, daughter and sister. She was an excellent “puzzler” and spent hours pouring over difficult crosswords and acrostics. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral service was at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. She is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to any local hospice.                               

Curtis W. LaBrot, 52, of Waterloo, died September 16, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born November 27, 1952, in Granite City, the son of Willard and Norma LaBrot of Caseyville. He was married to Pamela LaBrot nee McClain. He is survived by his children Melinda Winebrenner of Iberia, Mo., Sheena (A.J.) Cato of Iberia, Mo., and Curtis LaBrot Jr., of Iberia, Mo.; stepchildren Lance (Nikki) Krack of Evansville, Ryan Krack of Waterloo, and Renee (Donald) Vanderver of Waterloo; grandchildren Zane LaBrot, Dawn Winebrenner, Joseph Winebrenner, and Allysa Cato; and brothers David (Linda) LaBrot of Houston, Tex., Paul (Kathy) LaBrot of Troy, and Douglas (Christine) LaBrot of Highland. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Edith LaBrot and William and Ethel Fisk, and grandson Noah Curtis Vanderver. Mr. LaBrot was a member of Hope Christian Church in Columbia. Maurine V. Kruse nee Brewer, 84, of Waterloo, died September 20, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born May 8, 1921, in Kennett, Mo., the daughter of the late Justice and Quila Brewer nee Bruce. She was married to Anthony J. Kruse. She is survived by her husband; son Dennis (Denise) Kruse of Waterloo; grandchildren Dawn (Ryan) Grohmann, and Dana (Gerred) Carothers of Munising, Mich.; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul F. Schlemmer, 80, of Waterloo, died September 20, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born August 7, 1925, in Waterloo, the son of the late John and Frieda Schlemmer nee Janson. He was married to Shirley Schlemmer nee Carr. He is survived by his wife; children Linda (David) Phillips of Coppell, Tex., and Perry (Lynn) Schlemmer of Waterloo; grandchildren Brett (Madeline) Phillips, Neil Schlemmer and Ned Schlemmer; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Floyd A. Schlemmer. Mr. Schlemmer was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo and the Holy Name Society. Harold O. Netemeyer, 77, of Oakville, Mo., formerly of Columbia, died September 18, 2005, in Oakville. He was born February 13, 1928, in Albers, the son of the late Edward and Isabelle Netemeyer nee Schlarmann. He married Marcella Netemeyer nee Lohman in 1953. He is survived by his wife; children Philip (Cindy) Netemeyer of Fenton, Mo.; Tim (Diane) Netemeyer of Columbia, Joyce (Steve) Clark of Belleville, and Elizabeth (Jeff) Rogers of Fenton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; sister Esther (Don) Koch of Breese; brother Cletus (Monica) Netemeyer of Bartelso; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Matt Netemeyer and Clarence Netemeyer. Mr. Netemeyer was a member of Knights of Columbia Council #6165 and IBEW Local #309. Clarence J. Mueller, 87, of Columbia, died September 22, 2005, in Columbia. He was born May 13, 1918, in Columbia, the son of the late Bernard and Martha Mueller nee Juengling. He married Audrey M. Mueller nee Steffens in 1978. He is survived by his wife; children Sharon Hutto of Texas, Gerald (Debra) Mueller of Chesapeake, Va., Cheryl (Lloyd) Wright of Sorrento, Pat (Sharon) Turner of Dover, Del., and Jim (Kim) Mueller of Turner, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Daniel F. Haberl, 51, of Columbia, died September 23, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born February 9, 1954, in East St. Louis, the son of Merle Haberl nee Herrmann and the late Howard “Tiny” Haberl. Helen Dienell nee Loehr, 90, of St. Louis, formerly of Waterloo, died September 22, 2005, in St. Louis. She was born February 27, 1915, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Herman and Katharene Loehr nee Wortman. She was married to the late Russell Louis Dienell. She is survived by her sons Dennis C. Dienell of St. Louis and Russell D. Dienell of Arlington, Tex. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Dienell was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Belleville. She was a member of AARP and Waterloo Senior Center, and was on the board of directors of Head Start. Per Mrs. Dienell’s requests, her body was donated to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

John William Barnett, 61, of Belleville, died September 23, 2005, in Granite City. He was born August 4, 1944, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Gilbert and Ruth Barnett. He is survived by his cousins Scott Sabo of Columbia and Karen (Robert) Mitchell of Columbia, and friends. Mr. Barnett was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a lawyer. Salome K. Borsch nee Buchunas, 92, of Havre, Mont., formerly of Valmeyer, died September 24, 2005, in Havre, Mont. She was born November 9, 1912, in Salem, the daughter of the late Tadausas and Elizabeth Buchunas nee Janonis. She was married to the late Harold borsch. She is survived by her son-in-law Ed Dugan of Waterloo; grandchildren Ramona Vogt of Waterloo, Pat (Laura) Dugan of Harlem, Mont., Cynthia (Bill) Ragsdale of Oklahoma, Brian (Sherri) Dugan of Missoula, Mont., and George (Penni) Dugan of Harlem, Mont.; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Rita Dugan, sister Helen Dunn and brother Tony Buchunas. Mrs. Borsch was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. Robert R. Stumpf, 83, of Columbia, died September 24, 2005, in Belleville. He was born May 24, 1922, in Waterloo, the son of the late Adolph and Wilhelmina Stumpf nee Henke.
