Letters to
the Editor
Because of a dramatic increase in
the number of letters to the editor The Monroe County Independent
receives, we've implemented a policy for the submission and publication
of letters.
Please use your computer to
fill out the form you'll find by clicking on the following link. Once
you've completed the form, you may click "Submit by Email" to send
the contents of the form using your preferred e-mail client. You can
also click "Print" and mail or fax the completed form to us, or copy and
paste the contents of each of the form's fields into an e-mail and send
it to us that way.
The Monroe County Independent Letter to the Editor Form
• The Independent
editors welcome letters written by local individuals about relevant,
timely issues.
• We do not accept anonymous letters to the editor.
• All letters must include the name of the author and city of residence,
which will be printed in the newspaper.
• Letters of more than 3,500 characters (about 550 words) will be
subject to editing for length.
• The Independent editors reserve the right to edit letters for
clarity, style, length and accuracy.
• Letters submitted in response to information printed in another
newspaper will not be accepted.
