While spending a day at Daytime Discoveries in Valmeyer, Luke Kilhafner, 5, said he is very proud of his father, Rod, especially on Father’s Day. “I like to help my father. He lets me paint, put screws on the bench and mow the grass. Dad also lets me hold his tools and measure stuff,” said Luke.

The Fults Church garden features a walkway and plenty of seats for taking a break. It is maintained by Merrill and Sheryl Prange. The garden was one of eight locations featured June 14 as part of this year’s Monroe County Garden Tour. The event, which started in 2004, is sponsored by the Master Gardeners at the University of Illinois Extension office in Waterloo.
