Hopkins And Valerius Crowned Queens Of The Fair

The Outsider Wins Fults Softball Tournament


Outsider softball team members and bar patrons gather between games during this weekend’s Fults Softball Tournament. The team won the grueling three-day tournament for the first time. The team also pulled away in the final hour to win the coveted beer drinking trophy.

Recent Obituaries
Louise Augusta Lewis nee Peth, 87, died July 22, at Columbia Convalescent Center. She was born on January 10, 1920, in Bland, Mo., the daughter of the late George Fred and Flora Anne (Michel) Peth. She was a retired office worker at Scott Air Force Base after 29 years of service.  She was married to the late Gilbert Lewis. Survivors include brothers Clarence A. Peth of St. Louis, Mo., and Herbert (Margaret) Peth of Owensville, Mo.; and sister-in-law-Marcella Peth of Owensville, Mo. She was also preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Peth; and sisters Emma Hart, Elverna Bumpas, Adella E. Scheel and Mildred Peth. Funeral arrangements are pending at Lawlor Funeral Home.
