Scott Kohler Wins Demo Derby

Umbrellas start to pop out as rain begins to fall during last night’s Monroe County Fair Demolition Derby. The clouds soon opened up and fans raced for cover during an hour-long heavy downpour.

Recent Obituaries
Charles H. Kruse, 87, of Waterloo, died July 26, 2007, in St. Louis. He was born June 17, 1920, in Burksville, the son of the late John and Anna Kruse nee Koestner. He was married to Eleanora Kruse nee Krueger. Mr. Kruse is survived by his wife; children Kenneth (Janice) Kruse of Evansville, Ind., Joan (John) McFatridge of St. Charles, Mo., Marvin (Patricia) Kruse of Waterloo, and Steven (Diane) Kruse of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Hubert Kruse of Smithton; and sister Anita Sennott of Kissimmee, Fla. Visitation is Monday, July 30, from 3 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Quernheim.
