Overturns On Route 3 Sending One To Hospital ![]() Waterloo firefighters Brett Wiegand, left, and Jim Dietz watch as Monroe County Ambulance Service personnel prepare to transport an accident victim into an ambulance. The driver of a Mercury Sable lost control of his vehicle this morning at 7 a.m., ran off the road and overturned in a ditch. The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of Route 3, just north of Hanover Road. Monroe County Ambulance Service personnel, with the help of Monroe County Sheriff Deputy Ed Ahne, were able to extricate the driver out of the vehicle and transport him into an ambulance. The victim, whose name has not yet been identified, was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Southbound Route 3 was reduced to one lane while emergency personnel were on the scene. Both lanes were re-opened by 8 a.m.
