Local Football Updates - November 10, 2007

Columbia Eagles Advance To State
The Columbia Eagles defeated Carterville 23-14 today in a third round playoff game. The Eagles were led by wide receiver Joel Greatting, who had 74 yards receiving on five catches. Also starring for CHS were running back John Heineken, who scored three touchdowns; and quarterback Tyler Truttmann, who threw for 115 yards. The Eagles were helped by four Carterville turnovers, two intersections and two fumbles. Next Saturday, Columbia will play the winner of today’s Greenville versus Marshall game.

 

Red Bud Loses In Third Round
The Red Bud Musketeers lost to Casey 17-0 today in a third round football playoff game.
