David Maurer is recovering from a gun shot wound sustained late last night inside his home in Sterritt's Run, an upscale Waterloo subdivision. According to the initial report, a 911 call was made Monday night at 11:53 p.m., from 110 Sterritt's Run. The caller said an intruder entered the home and a weapon was fired at the homeowner. The intruder then fled in a black car.

The bullet grazed Maurer’s head and he was taken by Monroe County Ambulance Service to an area hospital. The wound was not believed to be serious, said Waterloo Assistant Police Chief Mike Douglas.
