Missing Columbia Girl Found - December 19, 2007

St. Louis County police officers have apparently found Britany Adkins, the 14-year-old girl taken at knife-point from her Columbia home this morning. A Fox 2 new helicopter was over the scene at 7:30 a.m., in the Compton Heights neighborhood and it appears Adkins is safe and the driver of the get-away car, a green Toyota, has been apprehended. Their was a brief police chase between St. Louis county cars and the Toyota, before they were able to get the driver to pull over.

Columbia police officers rushed out of town at 7:35 a.m. on their way to assist.

Additional information has not yet been released.

Adkins was reported to have been abducted at knife-point this morning at 3 a.m. from her mother’s home apartment at 216 W. Warnock in Columbia. She is described as a 14-year-old white, female, 5 foot 4 inches, 155 pounds, long brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black coat with brown fur collar and pink hoodie, blue jeans and brown shoes.

The alleged abductor fled in a dark green Toyota Corolla, license 9765995, with a missing rear driver-side hubcap. He is described as 17 years old, 5 foot 9 inches, 160 pounds, brown short hair, wire frame glasses and having tattoos. At the time of the abduction he was wearing a red bandana, white hoodie, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Amber Alert For Missing Columbia Girl

The Columbia Police Department is requesting information from the public regarding a missing 14-year-old female that was taken from her home this morning.

Britany Adkins was abducted earlier today at knife-point from her home at 216 W. Warnock in Columbia. She is described as a 14-year-old white, female, 5 foot 4 inches, 155 pounds, long brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black coat with brown fur collar and pink hoodie, blue jeans and brown shoes.

Anyone with information should call 911 and advise they have an amber alert report.
