Accident Clogs Traffic On Route 158 Ramp

A single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon tied up traffic on the Route 158 ramp over Route 3 south of Columbia.

The initial report is that at 3 p.m., a Ford Ranger was heading northbound on Route 3 and took the exit ramp onto Route 158 towards Millstadt. At the top of the ramp, the driver lost control and the truck rolled at least once before landing on its wheels. The driver received a head wound and was transferred by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Belleville. The passenger declined medical treatment.

Names and the cause of the accident have not been released.
