Two Vehicles Collide South Of Waterloo

Waterloo firefighting use Jaws of Life equipment to help Monroe County Ambulance Service personnel extricate a victim in a two-vehicle accident this morning on Route 3.

 Two people were rushed to area hospitals Monday morning following a collision at 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Route 3 and Vandebrook Drive, just south of Waterloo. Waterloo firefighters used Jaws of Life apparatus to pry open a door of one of the vehicles to extricate one of the victims. Names have not yet been released. Conditions were not considered life threatening. Traffic was re-open to traffic at 7:45 a.m.

Columbia Mini Mart Has Closed
After 30 years in business, Randy and Donna Eckert have sold Columbia Mini Mart. The Eckerts will lock the doors for the last time today at noon. Developer Greg Crawford has purchased the historic Main street building. According to Randy Eckert, Crawford is considering remodeling the structure and re-opening a convenience store later this summer.
