CHS Seniors Gather One More Time For Their Graduation

Two cars collided Sunday afternoon on Route 3 in Waterloo at the entrance to Schnuck’s. The injuries were not considered serious.

 

German Visitors Have Eventful Day In Waterloo

Sister Cities International Secretary Josephine Wittenauer of Columbia, right, gathers with Schoenbeck relatives from Monroe County and Porta Westfalica, Germany. The families shared stories and enjoyed each others company during a lunch Sunday at Waterloo City Lakes Park. Waterloo’s Portaloo will treat their sister cities guests to dinner Sunday evening at the Waterloo Country Club.

 

Hecker firefighters served up hundreds of pork steaks Sunday during the annual HVFD Barbecue and Antique Tractor Show.

Maeystown Fire Chief Lyndie Prange celebrated his 50th birthday with family and friends Saturday night at Maeystown’s Civic Association Park.

Sandra Akin nee Mathews, 46, of Waterloo, died May 18, 2008 in St. Louis, Mo. Funeral arrangements are pending at Quernheim Funeral Home.
