Eagles Third In State Soccer Tourney

The Columbia High School girls’ soccer team won the third place trophy this evening with a 4-0 victory over Herscher High School. Hannah Varel scored twice while Torey Byrd and Marissa Juenger each put in one.

 

Valentine Wins Maeystown Duck Race

Kate Valentine’s lucky duck finished in first place in the annual Maeystown Homecoming Duck Races on Saturday afternoon.

 

Stonebridge Restaurant and Bar of Maeystown owners of Ricky and Sharon Muertz provided a preview of their new establishment to parade goers at the Maeystown Homecoming. “They’ve done a really nice job here,” said village resident Mark Bundy. Rick Muertz said they will be open for breakfast Sunday morning.

 

Waterloo Falls Short In Baseball Playoffs

The Waterloo High School baseball team fell apart in the seventh inning, giving up eight runs to the team from Mascoutah High School during Saturday’s Regional Championship game. Mascoutah won the game 11-1 at a game played at the Whitey Herzog Field in Bellville.
