Demolition Derby Results

Tony Ahrens Takes Home First Place Demo Trophy

Through a driving rain in the final two heats, Tony Ahrens of Valmeyer, right, won the 2008 Monroe County Demolition Derby
. Fair Queen Carolyn Wicklein also presented trophies to, left to right, Alex Voelker, second place; and Ted Ahrens, third place. Prior to the start of the consolation race, the derby was stopped for about one-half hour for a rain delay. The remainder of the event was held in a hard downpour. Many of the perennial favorites were eliminated early in the competition, with the exception of David Wirth who made it to the final heat.

The main arena was a messy pit of mud
as the rain fell during the final heat of the 2008 Monroe County Demolition Derby. This was the second year in a row for a rain delay during the demo derby.

during a preliminary heat of the demo derby. Hecker firefighters Happel and Braun rushed onto the track to put out the blaze. Mudd was not injured in the fire.
