Thunderstorm Rips Through County

A tree limb landed atop a car Tuesday evening sitting at St. Paul UCC of Waterloo’s parking lot. A fast-moving thunderstorm blew through the county dropping several inches of rain. Damage included a tree falling onto the roof of a home in Sterritt’s Run in Waterloo. There were also minor power outages and numerous reports of tree limbs falling.

Several large tree limbs fell onto the courthouse grounds during the Tuesday evening storm. The rain caused the early cancelation of the Waterloo Municipal Band concert.

The Waterloo High School Marching Bulldogs wrapped up their summer band camp Tuesday morning. With their hard work in the hot sun, the students are hopeful to continue winning awards in upcoming competitions.
