Tickets Issued Following Scuffle At Video Store

Tyler Haudrich of rural Waterloo was issued four tickets last Friday following an altercation with an off-duty Waterloo police officer. He was ticketed with aggravated battery, resisting a police officer, driving under the influence and reckless driving.

While walking into Family Video on Aug. 8, at about 9 p.m., Waterloo Police Officer Scott Kohl saw a truck driving at a high rate of speed before it pulled into the store’s parking lot. The truck squealed its tires as it came to a stop, reports Kohl. After both Kohl and Haudrich entered the store, Kohl approached Haudrich, presented his badge and inquired about the erratic driving. As the conversation continued back outside on the parking lot, an altercation occurred. Waterloo Police Officer Scott Spencer soon arrived on the scene and Haudrich was restrained.

Haudrich, 21, was transported to the Monroe County Jail. He was released after posting bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 18 at the Monroe County Courthouse for a preliminary hearing.
