Three Waterloo Bikers Injured In Red Bud Accident Three people from Waterloo were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in an accident south of Red Bud near N & B Fuel on Route 3 between Red Bud and Ruma, as reported by The North County News of Red Bud. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reports that at on Aug. 23, at 4:05 p.m., Adam Cowell of Red Bud was traveling north on Route 3 in a 2003 Ford Contour along with passenger Michael Ratz, 27, of Red Bud. Ratz is listed as the owner of the car. Cowell, 24, made a left turn into the path of a 2007 Harley Davidson driven by Tommy Haynes, 37, of Waterloo. Haynes struck the right rear of Cowell’s vehicle. A second motorcycle, a 2001 Big Dog driven by Michael Carter of Waterloo, was unable to stop and struck Haynes’ motorcycle. Carter, 48, and his passenger, Debra Lawrence, 43, also of Waterloo, were thrown off their vehicle. Haynes, Carter and Lawrence were transported by ambulance to Red Bud Regional Hospital and then airlifted to St. Louis hospitals. Cowell and Ratz were not injured. The accident is still under investigation, and at this time tickets are pending.
A public meeting is scheduled for Monday evening, Aug. 25 at Waterloo City Hall regarding the city’s plans to hire a building inspector and to review the proposed property maintenance code. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the council chambers.
The number of reports of break-ins to vehicles this weekend in Waterloo is now 24. The Waterloo Police Department continues to request people to lock their vehicles overnight.
Clayton Bisanz of Waterloo is hoping there is a big turnout Oct. 11 at the Autism Awareness Walk at the St. Louis Muny Opera House. Clayton is the son of Amber and George Bisanz and the grandson of Steven and Moni Eschmann, also of Waterloo. He was recently diagnosed with high functioning autism. Clayton’s family is now spreading the word about the illness and is helping to find a cure.
