In other Friday sports action….

Red Bud’s baseball team fell to Metro East Lutheran 6-0, and Valmeyer boys of summer lost to O’Fallon Christian 15-1. The ladies from Gibault had a tough Friday. The softball team fell to Triad 4-1 and the soccer team was shut out by Columbia 1-0.

 

Diehl’s Celebrates 60 Years Of Keeping Things Colorful

to pick up some pansies. Diehl’s owners Jerry and Kris (Diehl) Wittenauer welcome people to stop by again on Sunday for the finale of their Customer Appreciation Days at their new location on Rogers Street in Waterloo.

Ball Park Rumble: The Waterloo Police Department was called out Saturday afternoon to the WSA Jaycees Ball Diamonds to break up an altercation involving at least one intoxicated individual watching a youth baseball practice. Four police officers arrived on the scene to separate those involved. Names and additional details have not yet been released.

 

Kenny “Hubba” Valentine celebrated a birthday Friday evening with family and friends. They capped off the occasion at J.V.’s Downtown Bar and Grill.


Easter Bunny Hops Into Waterloo

The Easter Bunny visited Waterloo Rural King
Saturday afternoon as part of their Customer Appreciation Day. Saying hello are, left to right, Ashlyn Crouch, Kaitlyn Gotto and Logan Whitlock. “Don’t forget to visit me tomorrow in Maeystown,” said the Easter Bunny, who will be the guest of honor on Sunday, April 5, at the Maeystown Sportsman’s Club Easter Egg Hunt. Sign up is at 1 p.m., and the hunt starts at 2 p.m.  

 

Recent Obituary

Sarah Davenport, 97, of Waterloo, died April 3, 2009. She was born Oct. 28, 1911 in St. Louis, Mo. Funeral arrangements are pending at Quernheim Funeral Home.
