At State Tourney, Falcons Softball Is Second And Baseball Finished Third

The SS. Peter and Paul Grade School softball team finished in second place today in the championship game of the state tournament. They lost their game 2-0.

Earlier today, the SPPS baseball team defeated Carrier Mills 8-0 to win third place at the state tournament. The Falcons were led by Wes Degener who pitched five innings for the victory. Alex Skaer pitched the sixth and Ryan Aycock closed the door in the seventh.

Both teams will be welcomed back home this evening with a parade at 6:15 p.m. through downtown Waterloo.

 

Marching Band Show On For Tuesday Night: The Waterloo High School Marching Bulldogs Band competition performance is on for this evening, weather permitting. The band will have a rehearsal run-through at 7:30 p.m., followed by a complete performance of their award-winning halftime show. The public is invited to attend. In addition, the doors of the new WHS will be open at 6:30 p.m. for tours of the facility.

 

Vigil Tonight At Columbia City Hall: The local Domestic Violence Prevention Center will be at Columbia City Hall Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., for a candlelight vigil honoring October as Domestic Violence Prevention Month.
