Three Agree To Pay Restitution For Damage To Valmeyer Cornfield

John Wueling and two  juveniles agreed in court Wednesday to pay $8,916.80 to a farmer for damage they committed last August  to a cornfield. Tim Cowell of Prairie du Rocher reported on Aug. 17, 2009 that sometime that weekend, a 5 to 10 acre section of one of his cornfields located in Valmeyer near Baer and B Roads was heavily damaged, appearing similar to crop circles. A witness who saw a truck driving in the area played a key part in the identification of the three youths being charged soon thereafter. Wueling, 20, was given a misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property in addition to the restitution payment. Information regarding the juveniles was not released.
