There have been two accidents in the area this week that have resulted in the deaths of two locals. Terry Morrissey, 36, of Red Bud died Tuesday, Aug. 31 on Floraville Road. According to the police report, Morrissey lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 4600 block of Floraville Road between Floraville and rural Millstadt. The bike entered a corn field and Morrissey was thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a St. Clair County coroner.

Tonya Ekes, 42, of Renault died overnight in a one-vehicle car accident on Southfork Road in rural Monroe County. She was transported by ambulance to Red Bud Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Funeral arrangements are pending at Quernheim Funeral Home. She is survived by two children, Jamie Mudd and Jessica Stoner.
